Subwoofer upgrade alternative ?

on my lunch break bored browsing around I found this on ebay.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Ampire-Subwo...4AAOxygPtS1XPf

not bad, 160$ for each speaker. (320$ shipped for both)
Seems like a cheaper alternative to Bavsound ones ? (500$ for both)
They are 100W RMS / 200W PEAK, same as Bavsound.

Product description :

Finally the new NEO8 - BMW subwoofer comes to the lower seat assembly for BMW vehicles .

The newly developed chassis is much more durable and louder than the competition .

The basket has been optimized to accommodate a large neodymium magnet . In addition, the spider and dust cap was vented in order to achieve a higher capacity.

The subwoofer fits perfectly without any modifications to the standard mount under the front seats.

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS

20cm ( 8 ' ' ) subwoofer for BMW
100 watts RMS / 200 watts max .
Fiber paper cone
ventilated dustcap
ventilated spider
Linear stroke: 10mm
Z : 4 Ohm
Re : 3.2 Ohm

IMPORTANT NOTE:
Some BMW Logic7 sound systems " Professional " basses were used with 8 Ohm impedance . If you install in these vehicles the NEO8 - BMW with 4 ohm impedance , the protection circuit will trip the Logic 7 amplifier at extreme volume levels .

Im really thinking about pulling the trigger on this, just waiting to see what you guys think.

550Reasons...did you already upgrade your components? i'm going Gladen Extremes. i've read into those Ampire awhile back and they are about the same as the SWS8 earthquakes. most reviews said they're nice but still somewhat muddy on the excursion side because it's trying to do both mid/low

specs for the included Gladen 8" woofers
2x 225/150 rms (Woofer) into 2 ohms + 2x 150/100 rms (MHT) at 3 Ohms

great reviews on these as most guys from what they posted are excellent for mid bass! which is what i'm primarily using them for.
still leaving the duties for the low end freq for the subs in the trunk. just ordered 2 Kicker 40CWR124 1000W 12" Dual 4 ohm CompR for my Nissan Titan and if they sound good to me i'll end up getting another set for the Beemer!

If you willing to spend $1100 for that amp (+shipping & some tax maybe almost $1200) I would really think about helix it's 120 watts x6 & it have a processing build-in. If you shop around you would get it the same price. I think you be happier w/ sound with that power.

But that amp doesn't have a built in dsp. You should be looking at this if you want to compare it to our amp http://www.germaniks.com/amplifiers-...i-d2-80-6-dsp/ and it's only 6 channels.

Had these installed by germaniks himself and he also threw in coding for enhanced bluetooth for a token.

i drive a 2014 f10 and the difference is night and day.

best 1400 ive spent. i dj semi pro and my mates used to slag me about how flat the stock audio was.

i got the amp with dsp function. he changed both underseat subs, rear speakers, tweeters (my car didnt come with tweeters), front speakers. its a combo of gladen and mosconi products. (i have two amps installed)

NICE! that's the plan for me but it sits at the bottom of my mods-list lol glad you dropped your insight and impression on these i almost went with the Bav's but at the time they didn't have the underseat replacements but i knew there was better out there as i'm running Focal K2's in my Titan so i wanted something like that in my Beemer. Nelson recommend the Jehnert's or Gladen's so that's the direction i'm goin in. why the need for 2 amps unless you're running subs in the trunk or is it powering the underseat subs?

He gave me an option of a single 6 channel amp to run all the speakers, think he mentioned it might be a bit underpowered so i opted for the two amp set up for more head room and incase i plan to run a separate sub in the trunk in the future.

So i think its a 4-channel amp running the mids and highs and another 2 amp channel running the underseat subs.

Rear is a pair of Mosconi/Gladen speakers. The only thing that is still stock is the headunit.
