iDrive Music Collection: Pre-LCI Facelift to Post-LCI Facelift

I have a 2011 7 Series, but I’m currently in a 2014 5 Series loaner.

For those who’ve gone from a Pre-LCI Facelift to a Post-LCI Facelift iDrive setup, has anyone found it frustrating there’s now too many steps to get to your "Music Collection" album list?

All you would have to do previously is go to “Music Collection”, but now you have to go to “Music Collection”, click the SECOND(!?) icon at the upper left of the screen (would be more intuitive it if was the FIRST icon), then click “Browse All” to get to your album list!?

Am I doing something wrong? Is there a shortcut I’m missing?

Thanks. :|

Garage List
Same here... I can't fucking stand it. I hate how it goes back to the single track after I select my track from the album, and then have to go back to the list to select a different song, and god forbid I need to go to another album I have to go from the root directory just to get to the album that was next to the album I was just playing. It's extremely annoying and frustrating for me...

Did you have a Pre-LCI Facelift model before?

If so, you agree there's additional, unnecessary steps now, right?

I don't think it's a pre-LCI vs LCI thing, but CIC iDrive vs NBT iDrive.
I've got the NBT on 2013 pre-LCI F10, but I don't know how it was to operate the music collection on the CIC iDrive.

I agree that changing album takes to much work on the iDrive controller, going back to the root directry.
But changing song is easy I feel.

Yes, agreed; sorry about that; the difference is between CIC and CIC-HIGH.

Thought all Pre-LCI Facelifts had CIC and all Post-LCI Facelifts had CIC-HIGH; my mistake.

Otherwise, there are far fewer steps with the CIC setup!!!

Unfortunately, CIC-HIGH is more complex overall as well.

Nobody knows what is going on

Perhaps it is how they have fixed their software from locking-up and freezing during play-back, someone in the World of BMW knows these things but they are not telling.

just click the search icon, then click album and scroll or do keyword search? Once you select the album, playback will be restricted to that album until you do "reset search".
