Off season wheel & tire storage
I thought this was a cool solution to storing my off season wheels. I tried several different ways to get the wheels up into my storage rack. This works great! The motor slides easily back and forth so it's easy to raise the wheel, slide the motor back, and lower the wheel onto the rack.

Looks great. I have a similar tire rack, but just lift my wheels on to it. I am only putting wheels up there twice per year anyway. In any case, very nice setup.

I take the easy route - one set of wheels with A/S tires.

As I lifted my wheels up for storage this season I couldn't believe how heavy wheels/tires (especially RFT) have gotten over the years. The stock fuchs wheels with tires on my 86 Carrera are light as a feather!

No kidding on the weight of these things. 10 yrs ago I might have climbed up a ladder carrying one of these, but not now. Last thing I want is to tear or herniate some body part!! Or fall off a ladder holding a 60-70lb wheel. This hoist works great. Takes about 20 seconds to get a wheel up or down. I tried a rope and pulley system first, but the electric hoist is way better.

Fancy, but very useful with the big, heavy OEM wheels.
