For a while, that was the means that granted me direct access to one of the best, heavily restricted waves in SoCal: Pt. Mugu.

I already had a paper route when I got my first board from my uncle. The first paycheck I got for scrubbing dishes at a yacht club I signed over to the board shop that made my first stick.

Never understood what the appeal of Hawaii's waves were as I am not a big "beach" person.

However, I was watching the surfers there recently and noticed that the waves continue to "crash" for like 30 seconds! That's quite the ride compared to So. Cal beaches.

The water is pretty to look at, but I prefer riding throughout the wilderness.
