"Chasis Stabalization Malfunction"

Had my 535i for 3 weeks/1000 miles. Went on a long trip today, returned and put car in garage. 1/2 hour later I was going out to the store and the car wouldn't start (turned over but wouldn't start). Warning came up "Chasis Stabilization Malfunction". Had to call Assist and they will tow it to dealer in the a.m. Anyone else have this problem?

Finally fixed

After two weeks it has been fixed. Had to replace the main computer. Glad to have it back.

Good question

Other than asking the dealer, how would I know?

This just happened to me on my second day of ownership. I am wondering if our first BMW will be our last. Hopefully not, we love the car otherwise! I hope they get a quick fix. Has anyone else had this and is replacing the main computer the only fix?

Some owners have reported this being a sensor problem due to a low battery ( F10 seems very sensitive to low battries) others have just had their steering recalibrated and all was well

Dont worry too much, you are going to love the car

I had the same problem, in conjunction with a "drivetrain" malfunction warning. Took it in, and mentioned to SA that also the service indicator was wrong (it went from 14,000 mile until service is due down to 2200 in one day) and he said "it's all screwed up". That was the diagnoses. They reprogrammed the car (took two days) and no problem since, about 3 months.

OK, I got a call this morning from my CA and they said they couldn't figure out what it was and that they were going to open a PUMA case because they didnt know what was going on.

Later in the day the SA called my wife. They told her that they got approval from BMW to reset the computer and that it will be ready tomorrow afternoon. They are going to deliver the car to her work and pick up the loaner when it is ready tomorrow. Lets keep our fingers crossed.

I will let you guys know exactly what they did if it is on the invoice/receipt.
