For 2016, the Alpina B5 receives a power upgrade and now boasts 600 HP / 591 LB-FT from its 4.4L V8. For comparison, these figures beat the standard M5's 560 HP / 500 LB-FT, the M5 Competition Package's 575 HP, and matches the 30 Yahre Edition M5's horsepower while beating it on torque.

Power is achieved with two Alpina-designed turbochargers, lightweight pistons, three intercoolers, larger oil radiator, and a high-capacity fuel system. The B5 features an 8 speed automatic transmission.

Acceleration takes just 4.2 seconds from 0-62 (beats the M5 by 0.1s) and top speed is 204 MPH.

The B5 also features adjustable suspension, active roll stabilization, and a standard mechanical limited-slip differential from Drexler.

In Germany, the 2016 Alpina B5 Bi-Turbo sedan is priced at €108,600 ($115,400 USD) and the sedan starts €111,900 ($119,000 USD).

will an awd option be available? if so that would be one awesome wagon (if the US would ever get on board with wagons being much better than big heavy SUVs)

Not sure why we are worthy of getting the B6 and B7, but not the B5.

S85 will forever be a legend. The best M engine in my opinion.

Sounds great and all, just wish they would change a lil bit in design wise..i mean, for how long they will use the same bumpers and wheels on all products?

They sell the B6/7 in the states, so maybe we'll see the B5 soon too. Question is, how does it sound and how well does it drive? Cant really exploit most of the power in the M5, for 99% of those that buy the B5 what more are you really getting over the M in sedan form? If you wanted an M5 wagon, the B5 wagon would be a no brainer, but dont really see the advantage in the B5 sedan.
