Post BMW F10 5-series interior (partial) photographed

Here are the first photos of the heavily covered interior of the F10 5-series. Getting a glimpse of an upcoming model's interior always provides good insight into the future design language of other upcoming BMW models.

Notice the new side-by-side placement of the gear selector and i-drive knob in the middle console. It appears to resemble the new X5's console. We also get a peak at the new steering wheel.

would make it illegal i guess...

I think that steering wheel looks like its from Opel or something, nasty design as far as these pics tell.

I know this sounds crazy but...

What if one of these test drivers was held up at gun point, forced to give up the car or else they're dead? Then the robber takes off with the car to a desolate garage/area of some sort.

Next, they remove all the panels and viola, the new design is revealed. Then the pictures are taken.

After the pictures are taken, the car is burned so that the evidence is gone.

I know its far fetched and crazy but.. I could see it happening.

looks to me like there are buttons on the centre console that might be EDC and such. Like on the M5.

I wonder why they are covering the i-drive screen so intently?

Man, the body panels of the new 5er sure are ugly.

I am kidding. On a more serious note, there must be some sort of major iDrive revision, because they are very concerned about giving that away.

Maybe they were covering up the iDrive internet access?

Did you see that the iDrive button seemed to be moved forward, just aft of the shifter, in the first photo, and then there is a second (likely dummy) controller-shaped bump, closer to where it currently resides?

criminal minds/intentions....

Although, after scoring big with exclusive spy pics, I would just sell the developmental mule to the likes of Lexus or Mercedes-Benz who'd be very interested to reverse engineer and would pay very handsomely for the opportunity

Rumor had it that BMW was working with Apple on a new interface, my guess is that an apple interface could be easily recognized, hence the secrecy.
