New F10 5-series impression from Auto Zeitung most accurate yet

How close? Well very close as they have seen the car , as BMW recently had a preview of development features such as aerodynamics and Efficient Dynamics technology for certain German journalists in the run up to the launch in early 2010.

So you wont hear about it until then. Because there are other press related previews such as testing in Miramas and Death Valley , high speed testing at the Ring and so on. scheduled to commence in the run up to the new car.

It's all about ramping up the excitement.
Afterall it's the new BMW 5er.

.... The kidneys will be smaller but wider across the face of the car [compared to the 5-series GT]. Although the 5er and 5er Gran Turismo are from the same bloodline they are actually very different because we intended to see the 5er Gran Turismo as an individual car to the regular 5er .

My gosh it's about time - I haven't seen a real picture of the new 5'er (non-GT) yet and it's due out in 6 months.

Anxious to see more pics (profile and rear)....

and the bumper that showed up on ebay??

But the front of that picture looks exactly like the front of the GT, what we haven't seen is good all around body shots of the 5 sedan...

Well, i think they are supposed to look similar (given that they are both 5 series) but there will be differences. especially in the flesh (from what i hear from people who have seen the production GT in person, it has very deep and sculptural sheetmetal, whereas the normal 5 looks like it will be less so). Like all heavily sculptured cars, the 5 GT sounds like it will need to be seen in the flesh (and supposedly it looks amazing) where the normal 5 series with a less complex and deep design will look much better on paper.

Oh man, I hope those headlights are accurate cause they look mean as hell! You can see just an ever-so-slight tiny hint of the E60 headlights in there. I'm also diggin the metal "trails" that sweep past the logo. It gives it a fast look.

i dont know how i feel about those headlights...guess ill have to wait and see more
and thats interesting, i always thought the 5er GT was just a 5er with a diff roof line. didnt know theyre considered two diff vehicles

somehow this just looks like a watered down E60... will have to see more pictures and possibly in the flesh to make a judgement call, one way or another

after seeing mercedes benz's new E class, i was terrified for the future of all cars. I started to think soon after that BMW may just fall like MB. I have mentally prepared myself for an epic failure.

Thankfully, it seems BMW hasnt faultered for the five. Instead, things are looking very promising and now i can breathe easier knowing that the new 5 wont be a fail. however, i have come to the conclusion that we are only delaying the inevitable. The production of the GT series is the begining of the end. The next set of BMW designs for the new three series are going to be very tricky to master. I hope that BMW doesnt screw up the new three.

Im so PARANOID!!! FUCK! I am just waiting for the day that i see something BMW churns out that makes me cry. The 5GT only let a tear out, it wasnty a full cry. the 3GT will probably be 2 tears and maybe a snot bubble-- but not a cry.

And so, time keeps ticking. Bring Bangle Back for Christ's sake!
