2011 BMW F10 M5 Interior Spied
The boys over at spyshots.nl were tipped with these true interior snapshots of the upcoming M5. They actually went inside and snapped from the inside. Must be nice to get that close to the M5 this far from production! The exterior is still heavily armored and is no doubt hiding widebody upgrades as compared to the standard F10 5-Series.
The most recent rumors indicate that BMW is currently testing two versions of the M5 prototypes, one with a twin-turbo V8 and another with a V10 which is possibly twin-turbo as well! The decision on white powertrain will ultimatly go into the M5 is being made right now but in either case, the result should be nothing short of spectacular, and with either engine the car is expected to hit the 600HP mark. This link has pictures of a nearly uncovered standard F10 5-Series just to give you an idea of what it would look similar too: http://f10.5post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=293702 Now on to the pictures: Source: http://www.spyshots.nl/SpyShots/Prim...MW_5-serie_(M5)

A^M=G is nothing w/o the Power of ///M
|
Those don't look like M gauges and there are no M badges anywhere in the car, also the 7k RPM redline make me think this is not the next M5

After checking the log for these prototypes it is not an M5.
The shape of the exhausts leads me to believe that is could be the Tri-Turbo Diesel undergoing evaluation. |

Not going to be the ///M5- this a test vehicle for one of several future engine variants. The giveaway is the rear exhaust not being quad tipped. During testing they actually make sure that the tips blacken equally (or not), unlike the Dinan exhaust where they made the tips black since two are just for looks. Also looks too long to be a 5er but that is another story...
I wish the images were able to be made larger so we could read some of the notes.... nice find! Last edited by mapezzul; 08-24-2009 at 01:09 PM. |

Someone point out it's pre-FEP F01 or F02 7er long wheelbase test mule at GCZ, not F10 5er.

still dont believe this is an m5. the new 550i or 555i will probably have a beefier twinturbo v8. The 5 series always gets an engine update.

All I know is the fit and finish on that interior will not be competitive in the upscale super sedan market:-) it's obvious that's not an M5 unfortunately there will be a much more of this useless speculation in coming months until we get some real info.
