i love my dark griphite aka sophisto, this IS the color to have, had black cars all my life (still have my black M109r) and by the way she is almost black at night and when she larks in the shaddows.............

has this color been discontinued??? i was leaning towards this but can no longer find it in the bmw configurations......

was referring to canada.. it's still up on the usa site..

I read somewhere that the pigment they use in the paint is manufactured in Japan and is affected by the recent events there. I could not find the color on the BMW Canada site under the 5 series either.

i hope this gets sorted out... was really leaning towards this color too... i might end up getting imperial blue or black sapphire if it continues to be unavailable..

Just received my 520d Touring here is Switzerland. The original A90 Sophistograu was switched to B90. I can't see a big difference, but I think there is a little less depth and sparkle to the color. I will try to take a better picture soon.

Hi would really appreciate some close up photos of Sophisto Gray II or DG2?? the paint code is B90.

Only just been told by dealer my car is now DG2 B90 paint not the original order of A90 Sophisto Gray Xirallic.

I've been told there is no difference but I find this hard to believe as original pigments only got produced in one factory in Japan?????

My car arrives 30/08/11 but want to but my mind at rest regarding the colour.

After deliberating for weeks on wheels/tires, I finally pulled the trigger and went for 20" Vertini Concaves with Hankook tires - here's a quick pic from my phone - I'll post better pics shortly - I didn't want to go overboard on forged rims, especially with the pot-holes in Chicago and the Vertinis were at a good price point, and they have the concave look I was after....The Hankooks, after the piece of crud Goodyear runflats are like day and night - just so non dramatic over imperfections on the road - the steering, esp on Sport, feels totally BMW now.

2 more weeks and the ACS springs should be here, although the 20" wheels do fill the wheel well a little better...now thinking about a tint...the bug has bitten...

I don't know if you're supposed to actually write in this topic or only to upload photos but I must say that this topic has won me over. I am definitely going for the Sophisto II Gray. Both the F10 and the F11 look so utterly amazing in this color, both in bright and dark light conditions!

Hopefully I will place the order in April and receive my F11 in June!
