Where are all the 550i reviews? I am surprised that there is almost no review of the most powerful version yet.

I asked the BMW guys at the NY auto show about the lack of 550i reviews. They said they hadn't given the media the 550i to test drive yet. No further explanation. Their strategy could be to promote them separately to get another wave of media exposure.

I asked the same thing and got a similar response at the New York Auto Show. BMW's decision to hold the 550i back from reviews is starting to make me very nervous.

I don't have any experience in marketing, but prospective F10 550 purchasers already have an incentive to hold off indefinitely until the new M5 comes out. You'd think BMW would want to create some excitement around this model now.

In the end the ranking is:

1. 530d
2. 730d

Thanks for reminding me of Autobild.
I bought the mag last week, and only if you are a rearpassenger, you are more or less better off in the 7series to be short. And its brakedistance was shorter. But to pay 20k euros (in D) more than the 530d, that's your own decission.

Anyway the colour/looks/wheels of that tested 730d are excellent compared to the silvergray 530d imho....

This is a very good review of the car. Very spot on in terms of ride, Handling, Steering when being compared to the E60 and E39.

This guy says that the xDrive steering is the same as the RWD car. He clearly did not drive it.

I have the xDrive and it does not have the electric steering. He should drive the car before he writes the review.

Comparison test from the german AMS: 530d x-drive vs A6 3.0 tdi quattro vs E350cdi 4-matic. BMW finishes last. Looses to Audi in the disciplin roadhandling, performance, brakes, economy etc. To MB in disciplin comfort. This is the first comparison test of a 5 series i have ever seen that looses out to its german premium rivals. The new Audi has catced up. Whereas Audi has lost weight since last model, BMW has gained weight.
