F10 5-series long wheelbase version spotted in Sweden

The long-wheelbase-version of the F10 5-series has just been spotted in Sweden. Approximately 12 inches longer than the standard F10 5-series sedan, the LWB 5-series will approach 7-series length. It will be produced in China only for the Chinese (and possibly also Middle East) market.

The extra length is in the rear doors, which lends itself to a roomier passenger compartment. The LWB F10 5-series is expected to bow at the 2010 Beijing Motor Show.

Because this version will only be available in China (and maybe Middle East).

They do, but with the extremely high car prices in China, most people that can afford a 5 series are most likely already executives of some sort and have personal drivers up front, and them sitting in the back. Hence the long wheelbase.

i am a chinese, i hate long-wheelbase-version... i dont know why they are always make some long wheelbase verison cars for chinese market

btw.. audi a4 a6.. mercedes. E-class in china they are all long wheelbase - -

I don't see the point?

If they want a longer wheelbase, and as someone mentioned above these cars are not cheap in China. then most likely someone who can afford the LWB 5 series can just buy a 7 series!

the price of a 7 series is still significantly higher than that of a LWB 5 series.

A lot of asia does not like driving themselves. Most people have drivers. It is quite a bit different from what we are used to over here.

They should introduce this in India. I am sure it will do very well.

Considering an E280CDI costs ~ $115,000 and an S320CDI costs ~ $200,000, they could sell an E280CDI L for ~ $130,000 and a LOT of people will buy it.

I'm gonna say something a few may not like, Why would the Asia market want LWB cars? The Asian people are short and on the skinny side....They can fit in regular cabs? On the other hand, you would think these LBW cars would come to the US, for the Tons/millions of Fat people(ok, over weight flame way)

Indian people are not short... I am 5'8 and one of the shortest in my family. The men in my family are between 5'10 and 6'3
