Now that the BMW 5er family is complete with the launch of the Touring , The next phase in the 5er launch will be in August/September when we will begin to communicate the first information regarding the M-Sport Aerodynamic Packet. The 5er and 5er Touring M-Sport will make their public debut at the Paris autoshow in October and be available immediately after.

BTW - M-Sport suspension, only, can already be ordered in some countries as option 704.

Let's hope some of the first F11 cars will be specced with M-sport suspension. At least there should be some F10 cars to sample for suspension dynamics around that time.

BMW had a pre-production 535d M Sport Touring inside the Owners lounge at the BME PGA at Wentworth this week. Looked superb in Carbon Black! Front end looks very aggressive.

No firm date for M Sport cars in UK but probably September was the advice. The fact that they have a RHD car in the country is encouraging.

It looks sensational!

Had a chat with a very informative lady who said she was part of the development team. A few highlights:

The car will be called 535d, not 540d as many expected, and will have the same 299hp version of the twin turbo engine as found in the GT.

The M sport range will be available at launch in September. Full details will be made available in early July.

The car I saw was in Carbon Black with 19″ m sport wheels but 18″ will be standard.
It will have sport suspension as standard which lowers the car slightly but this can be deleted if required. The adaptive drive option will not lower the ride height.

The front of the car is really aggressive with a bumper similar to the new 3 series coupe m sport. The rest of the aero kit is quite subtle with extended side sills and a slightly reworked rear bumper with an extra crease in it. The 535d has single exhaust pipes left and right.

Inside, the trim was a silver hexagon pattern which I didn’t really like due to the contrast with the plain alloy strip at the base of the trim which is a feature of all F10/F11’s. However, the rest of the interior was Black/Black Dakota with sport seats and looked great.

The whole car looked very dynamic and very sleek compared to my current E61.

I’ve already placed an order with my dealer!

Got a load of abuse from some people on the forum who did not believe me so it's good to hear from someone else who was there.

I was told the M-Sport should be available for the launch of the F11 in September.

No you are correct , BMW did bring an M-sport F11 to the Wentworth Open.
And your description was (pardon the pun) down to a tee.

The F11 will be shown at other events throughout the summer (in Europe)
Communication will begin in July (F10,F11) , official public debut will be @ Paris in early October.
Although deliveries will begin from September.
US debut will follow before the end of the year. (F10 only).

Thanks for the update. I am seriously considering cancelling my order as the car is due mid August. Would be happy to wait another month or 2 to get the model I really want.

I have paid a deposit to secure one of the first cars allocated to the dealer but you cannot configure the 535d or any M sport F10/F11 just yet.

I was told to expect the price premium over the SE cars to be about the same
as it was for the old E60/E61.
