Jeremy Clarkson has developed (rightfully so) a reputation as a bit of a sourpuss when it comes to BMWs. That's why BMW owners take notice when he reviews a BMW favorably. And he does so very favorably in his review of the F10 BMW 535i, which he calls the "absolute best of absolutely everything we know." Pretty darn good endorsement if you ask us.

Sweet review from "sourpuss Clarkson" as you so aptly described him regarding his reputation for his reviews on BMW. Very nice that he loved it, must be a superb car for him to gush over it!

the term "sourpuss" fits him like a glove....
![]() I love the guy, but I do notice a slight difficulty in saying anything positive about BMW´s... I see things change.... " a little" sometimes... Clarkson’s verdict: basically, it’s a very, very good Austin Seven ![]() |

Have you noticed how positive has our world become? It is oh so positive that people who still recognize a car battery when they see it they dislike it, since one of the terminals is negative. Car "evaluators" are so positive that the fluff they write is next to useless. More power to Jeremy Clarkson and anyone who dares to sourpuss when it is called for. After all, when he drove the 535i he saw the light, and the high pressure pump held its own.

I agree with him, hybrid technology crap is a temporary "band aid" to the problem. but great review on behalf of a chap. I need to test drive this one.

I had the F10 for a few days while my car was at the shop and the ride was smooth and comfortable yet firm enough in corners to handle like a much lighter car. Very comfortable and agile ![]() |

Don't get me wrong, the director of tests of the car mag I work with told me too that the car had lost a bit of it's sportiness, but sincerely 99% of the users will be happy with it, and will still beat a Merc or an Audi any day. But seems there's always people who love complaining. this is like people praising the good old days, but the thing is that actually new things are better; just non-sense nostalgia implicit in (certain) humans. It's not like we are meant to drive a racing car on the roads... |

Clarkson is a clown and a very humouristic TV presenter, that's all.
The last couple of years he hated almost anything with the BMW badge and/or its drivers or at least he acted like that.... Anyway nice article, but his opinion didn't make me choose a F10 or my 8th BMW fwiw. Better watch Jason Plato, Chris Harris, Richard Meaden, Tiff Needell or Vicky BH judging cars. Cheers Robin |

An F10 535i is a superb blend of modern BMW, from where I sit. The 530d is the sensible choice, in the UK. HighlandPete |

i just finished my nursing school, and rethinking the future. I don't think the future wife will like a mad man behind an E9X M3. I have to "BEHAVE"
