If they don't release the M5 is 6spd. then the 550 or 650 (depending on new 6) will be the way to go for me.

This is more of a muffler bypass than muffler delete. Same result, except you can switch back and forth.

The E60 M5 was never meant to be a 6SPD from what I recall. BMW finally gave in to consumer demand and made than an option I think a year or so in to the production cycle. Either way your comment doesn't make sense. The current F10 550i doesn't offer a manual at all. It is 8-speed auto only. Only option is if you want flappy-paddles with your wheel or not.

I doubt they would offer the F10 M5 with a manual at launch either. They might point three-pedal lovers to their 1M instead and keep the M5 exclusively with their 7-speed DCT gearbox.

The 528 is the one not available with manual transmission. The 550 and 535 are available with a manual transmission.

My mistake. I didn't see 6-speed as an option on the build website and thought that meant it was not an option. 6-speed is the standard, 8-speed is a no-cost option.

Garage List
1999 VF BMW M3  [5.00]
2008 135i  [5.00]
2003 M3  [3.10]
2011.75 BMW M3  [4.17]
2009 STi  [3.83]
This sounds exactly like you'd expect it to--like there's a hole in the exhaust system. Although this is normally caused by rust or a muffler falling off.. not a modification.

What is the difference between this, muffler delete, and straight pipes?

That sounds horrible. You couldn't pay me enough to do that to my car.

I haven't been on here in forever, but I did this to my car a long time ago, and installed manual cutouts behind the primary cats. I'll post up a video if i get enough interest for it.

My brother has this on his '04 M3. It's insanely loud at full throttle.
