F10 + Alpine White + M-Sport Packet + 20" 312 = :)

So guys (and girls),

am a proud owner of a f10. As with all my other cars, my love for BMWs, Diesel engins, white cars, M-Paket, big alloys with m-suspension results in what you see today.

I have been driving a 5 series for five years. At first a 530d manual tranny (between 2005-2007 and then from 2009- 2010), a 535dA (2007-2008) and a 520dA (2008: absolute draem car but unfortunately without a active steering). In 2009 i had two affairs; one with a 330dA (11 weeks; the ordering time for hte car was 12 weeks) and a x6 for which I waited 16 weeks but then it got stolen 5 weeks later. after the x6 incident, i went and bought back my old 530d from the previous owner and was happy to be driving with a car that was not sticking out that much. After a year I was mentally ready to order a new car again. Initially I wanted a 520d but because of the long delivery times, I ordered a 525d which then I changed to a 535d.

Anyways here the hard facts:
530d with Sportautomatic
Outside white, inside black with aluminium hexagon trim
comfort seats
4 zone AC
navi prof + bluetooth + usb
active steering
pdc
automatic tailgate
comfort access
xenon
speed limit info
hifi professional dirac
black/white emblems
20" pirelli/dunlop wintertires on 312 ferric grey

So here a quick update on the car:

Hui:
+ Navi Prof: amazing big display. Big wow
+ the ambiente inside the car is so luxarious
+ sportautomatik: when using the paddle shifters, teh reaction time is so good
+ m-suspension + 20": exactly how a car should feel and drive
+ active steering: must-have option. can't judge whether the steering is as direct as wiht the e60 as i sold my old car a few months ago
+ consumption: amazing consumption. nearly as econcomical as my old 177hp 520dA. I did munich vienna last night (doing someting like 80-90mph, i got 43 mpg uk or 36 US mpg.
+ hifi profession: whether paul potts oder black eyes peas; the sound is very very pleasand and decent
+ no noises from body trim: was not the case with my x6
+ very quiet noise level inside

Pfui:
- the auto dimming mirrors dimm much too dark. if you order this option, a blind spot deteciotn is a must have
- the comfort seats are not as comfy as the comfort seats from teh e60. but i would defintiely order the option again simply because i like the adjustable side bolsters.
- under the boot, there is a huge battery and a small battery. no space for things to store. it looks terrible. if a bit of water gets in there, i smell big trouble.
- no spare tire on teh car. WHY?????
- i can not have the sport mode programmed to stay every time i start the car. i must be doing something wrong.
- the trims are very very soft. the belt hit the trim (which can happen when you open the belt too quickly) and now it is alreayd has scratches.
- rear has less space than on the e60.

What would i order different in future?
+ seat heating rear: if you have a 4 zone AC, people will always ask in winter where the button is for the rear seat heating
+ if auto dimm mirrors, then only with blind spot deteciton.

So here are the pics - enjoy...

cheers

You're not doing anything wrong, that's that's just the way it is. It will stay in comfort or normal, but sport or sport+ will default to normal after engine off.
Good looking car, where did you get the black and white BMW badges and how are they attached - can they be gently levered off or are they fixed from behind?

Very nice, especially nice to see a car with the 312 Ferric wheels on.

I'm interested that you say that there is less space in the rear compared to the E60. That's not my experience and that's not what the stats claim.

I got a badges from a lad in England. I have sourced badges from him for the last 3 years. very realiable source. Both front and rear pop out easily but for the front you need to do some work before oyu can put the new ones on. takes about a few minutes. I have done it on 3 of my last 4 cars (could not do it for the x6 because there were no badges for the x6)...

Do you have the comfort seats? I think the c-seats take away alot of the space because of it's size. my feeling - the comfort seats have grown in size compared to the e60. the stats may be based on standard seats.

What a beautiful F10! Very cool color scheme with the 312 Ferric Gray Wheels and the aluminum hexagon trim. I wish that they offered the M-sport Suspension here in the US. I had it on my 2008 E60 and I thought that it was perfect. Unfortunately we can't get it here. How the M-Sport Suspension compare to the Adaptive Drive Suspension? Whatever comments that you could offer as a comparison would be appreciated.

Amazing car Rsyed, you have good taste with your cars! A really nice collection!

The wheels looks awesome, I really liked my 312s non-ferric but these really makes the car perfect! I would recommend you to buy 21" for summers as it would be sick on you ride and since you like "big" rims!

Nice with the new badges, clean look! But you need to change the kidneys as well, don't you think? I have ordered mine so next week they should be fitted!

Big congrats!

Beautiful pictures! Thank you for posting those.

I'm finding when customizing on the BMW site the preview doesn't show the hexagon trim from the M-Package. If you choose the M-Package is the hexagon trim sure to be included unless you specify otherwise? I love it far more than the brushed aluminum.

Also, why do you consistently get diesel over standard unleaded? I mean, why is this your personal preference?

Guys I need to apologize - it was wishful thinking when I wrote I changed my order to a 535. It is actually "only" a 530d...

@Nightcreature:
I am still very undecided on what to get as my summer shoes. Obvoiusly, one path will be to get your wheels if you consider selling your car LOL LO

@EvolutionTheory:
90% of my driving is in the city. The nice thing about the diesel is the kick it gives you between 1500 and 2500 revs. Sure you are limited to lower revs (4k vs. 7k on a petrol car) but I would never have a chance to rev this high in the city to really feel the power of a petrol engine. And the secondly, you get atleast 25-30% better fuel economy. Like i posted earlier, doing munich vienna 2 nights ago (doing someting like 80-90mph) i got 43 UK mpg or 36 US mpg.
