F10 M5 Continues Cold Weather Testing

The 2012 F10 M5 continues cold weather testing and evaluation in Northern Sweden. As with our last F10 M5 photos, this one also wears a set of snow wheels/tires for testing purposes and are not the wheels we've come to know as the production wheels (which can be seen here and here). The mirrors you see are the production intent versions.

We were told that the speedometer topped out at 320km/h (199mph)

We have posted some older spy photos below (from the Nurburgring) which shows what the production front bumper and rear bumper will resemble.

The production M5 is expected to premier at the 2011 Frankfurt IAA autoshow in September 2011 (with an internet reveal a few months earlier). Euro deliveries will begin in November 2011 and US deliveries begin in Spring 2012.

The F10 M5 is expected to be powered by a tweaked version of the S63 V8 twin turbo motor from the X5M/X6M, good for what we believe will be 585-600hp.

Be sure to follow our complete F10 M5 coverage here: http://www.bimmerpost.com/m5/

Awesome !

Really like the whole test thing up north..

Funny here is the Dunlop winter tyres on the car, used by BMW
Pushing the m5 on hard core winter driving.. And here in Sweden
They're called "southern European winter tyres" which as you hear on the name
Can't be good enough )

i'm curious to see how it looks when it is revealed

however, no way in hell would i buy a first model year car...

look at the e60 M5 when it first came out with all the SMG, VANOS issues, along with some recalls.

I prefer to wait until the car matures over time, and buy when BMW does its LCI refresh - which usually brings out improved design aspects along with some new features.

I had an 07 E60 M5 (6MT) and it was a blast to drive but I wanted something a bit more refined and the E90 M3 LCI was a perfect fit.

Like you, I plan to wait as well....

M5 looks great! Much better than the new 6-series, imo.

The SMG was pretty new in the e60 M5. There was a watered-down version on the 6 Series, but no Drivelogic or a 7th gear. Fortunately the M-DCT has been around for a while prior to installing it in the next M5.

Thanks for serving. I was with 1/6, 2/2, and 2/10 out of LeJeune. Semper Fi!
