Review of Eisenmann Race Exhaust with video
Calvin posted pics of my 535i with the Race version of Eisenmann's Performance Exhaust. Here's a video that a buddy and I took yesterday (Flip HD mounted to the side of the car with a Gecko dual suction mount). Wait for the "surprise" at the end of the video :-)
[u2b]0Vp3SOJZS5E&hd=1[/u2b] Review: Really like the look of the exhaust at the back of the car as you can see from the pics here Darwin and Carlo at Sonic Motorsports did a great job of custom cutting the rear bumper (similar to what Lacster got done some time ago) as well as welding the system in place. Overall I love the sound of the exhaust. When idling or not on the gas it's fairly quiet retaining the characteristics I liked of the stock system. When you're at WOT or more than say 50% throttle you get a nice throaty roar that is not overwhelming and great to hear. My gas mileage is definitely going to go down for a while as I hit the gas over and over again to hear the sound. :-) I felt like the stock system was entirely too quiet under load and this Eisenmann system has cured that problem. The system is brand new right now and there is definitely a noticeable drone between ~1800-2000 rpm when cruising between 60-70 mph on the highway. Nate @ IND tells me that the drone will go down as the system is broken in. I'll post back on this thread with an update in a few hundred miles. Fit and finish of the system is top notch. The muffler canisters and tips are of fantastic quality with the discreet Eisenmann logos on top of all four tips. I'm really happy with the purchase, mostly do local driving these days so will take some time to put miles on the system. I don't think the drone will be problematic but can't hurt if the sound mellows out over time at those low rpm / cruising speeds. If you have any other questions about the system fire away and I'll try to answer them. Thanks again to the team at Sonic, and Nate & Ilya at IND for hooking me up! |
