Chiver,
Having really tested it out yet? Suppose to test it at Repulse Bay Road yesterday but my baby was crippled. Stay tuned.

Hi RC, glad to hear your car is ok!
Nothing more painful than this. Nowadays, even BMW maintenance is also worsening. My car has two scratches in side skirt after I take back from checking the steer that pulling left constantly. At that time, I only received my car some 20 days, till that time I even wash car by myself and always keep away from any other car during parking to avoid open-door-crash. They promise to paint those scratch at no cost, I am waiting fix at my first oil-change(12,000 Km).

But the F10 paint job is very weak and thin IMO. Very easy to swirl. Need to take extra care. Bad news again for me, I scratched my rim again. After I got my car from the shop, I parked in the car park at my office. The turn at the up ramp has horrible turning radius. I saw scratch marks all over the wall. I managed to avoid the walls but not the curb (did not know until I inspected the rims at the gas station afterward). The scratch is not too serious, just minor peeling of paint of less than an inch. This would never happened if I don't need to take my car to the shop this morning since I don't drive to work. Not sure if I will just tolerate it or spend $400 again to touch it up. But my car has no defects except this rim scratch.

For those of you who don't know and never seen it. Yeah, the back seat has to be disassembled to do the rear suspension. Photo taken by the shop.

Thanks RC. All the bad images recently have made this one more palatable.
I have thought about 'keep-fresh'-wrapping the steering wheel and center console and interior door handle leather.. but i don't want to be the talk of Bmw hk At least you're starting to chill over the scratched rims.. i think its a bit like life, the hits/suffering keep coming until you learn to not feel the unnecessary pain from them. So perhaps scratched rims are a gift from God. |

Nothing is perfect and that's life. Though we love our cars but they are just objects, no need to get to too obsess or attach with them. My pastor said once some people are tied to materials, example being a car starts wit the B letter. When he says that I thought is he talking to me? Haha, I really don't want to be like that. Just let it be.
Funny enough, my Dad in law likes to wrap all the remote controls with plastic bags so they won't wear out. Mine's are just like craps. Hehe.

Thanks bros, I think I should make something wrap my car to protect from further scratches like stone chips.
Btw, what car-wrap shop do you guys recommend?

Do you mean clear-bra? I think 3M has it. Or film-x. Very expansive though. Over 10k just for the front. Most likely won't be in one piece, you will see a joint on the hood. My bro-in-law's Porsche 911 turbo has it. Turned yellow over a few years. But it really can protect the paint job.

WOW! They told you they had to remove the rear seats? I had my spring and coils installed and they didn't have to remove my seats but I guess everyone has their own ways of installing things. Post some pics of your car RC3

They removed my rear seat as well to get to the top of the fender well under the speakers. How did they get to yours Lacster?

Yeah, I think my tire guy figured that out after he took the seat out. When they swap out my H&Rs for the RD springs, I'm going to suggest they do this instead. This was their first spring swap on the F10. Thanks Lacster!

Cool to learn, Kev. Next time I'll know how to supervise the installation guys. Those guys who done mine are not so competent anyway.
Was gonna take photos but drizzle on Sunday. I'll see if I can squeeze time the coming few days.
