Video: V1 Hardwire DIY Install F10 5

Hi guys,

I just posted a video here that shows how to hardwire (using the V1 hardwire kit) the radar detector in an F10 M5, should be the same for a non-M. I used green wire with the brown stripe on it to tap into. It was hard to access the ground bolt, but with a swivel accessory it is possible. I referenced this guide for help as well. - http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=515517

Thanks to William for letting me use his car.

Just did mine the same way, super easy. Hardest part is removing the light/sunroof assembly...

Just tried in my new-to-me '14 535i and no luck getting power from that wire. I even used a test light to no avail...

Make sure you are doing the ground wire correctly. The screw we use has a coating on it.

I actually drilled a hole in that cross-member where the plastic screws live and installed a ground wire.

I just gave up and am now running the wiring like I did in our '12 535... Down the "A" pillar and into the fuse box.
