My girlfriend's gonna hate me. The diamond's gotta have to wait again!
I pulled the trigger on another lens I havent even finished getting used to my 70-200/2.8. Damn can I stop seeing nice deals that are so nice that I cannot resist? My wallet would appreciate a lot. Like new Nikkor 24-70/2.8 with all the goodies and box for $1500 shipped. Couldnt say no ![]() But at least I got the lenses I wanted for the price I was ready to put down. Should get it by the end of the week ![]() Damn this hobby is expensive.... fun... but expensive.

All you need is a 500mm lens to have a "complete" setup.
![]() What you have will cover tons of territory. I've got a 24-105mm, a 70-200mm and a 500mm and seldom Jones for more. Dave

If I compare to 6 months ago, I got PLENTY of gear to have a nice summer.
But I dont see myself paying 10k for a lens. Too much fun to be had with that kind of money ![]()

Flickr now shows pics in a bigger size after you click the thumbnail, no more clicking on the pic to see it larger

I hope you're right; or else i'm gonna get into trouble
![]() My odd lenses are not worth selling. Maybe I could get a couple hundreds for my 70-300; but the 18-55 is worth like $50 (and my gf use it all the time anyway) and the 18-105 is worth maybe $200. But I really like it cause its kinda sharp for a DX lens. So I might keep it as a "off-road" lens for the dirty work or keep a full DX setup in my trunk at all times (You never know). Other then those two, I want to keep all the others. (12-24/4, 24-70/2.8, 70-200/2.8 & 50/1.4) I might be pulling the trigger on a macro lens for next summer; but I think I went past my gear budget for the remainder of the year. But I guess i'm gonna have to give her the diamond before the macro I think she's been patient enough. (Or maybe the new D3200?) ![]()

Promote control
http://www.promotesystems.com/produc...e-Control.html Anybody ever played with that remote? Looks like an awesome tool to me! - HDR bracketing up to 45 shots (They had me just with this feature) - Time Lapse - Focus stacking sequence (Might not work on my D7000) - Bulb bracketed exposures Was a bit pricey (329+ tx + $40 shipping), but I wanted one since the day I knew that thing existed. Just snapped one on ebay for $218 shipped ![]() Cant wait to get my hands on it. Looks like i'm gonna have to take a couple days off. Now I need a better; more stable tripod.

I'm already drooling just thinking about the tonemapping of a 45 shots bracket HDR.

Finally managed how to get decent results with my Eye-Fi X2 Pro setup.
By default, the card connects to your internet wifi, sends the pic on your (secure) Eye-Fi account and then the Eye-Fi app downloads the pic from the Eye-Fi server. So that implies a lot of travelling before the pic is actually displayed on your screen. But there's an option called Direct mode. And its kinda tricky to configure, but if you follow instructions its pretty straightforward. You have to remove your internet wifi from your network list tho; because Direct mode will only work if the card cannot detect any prefered wifi. Now the card acts like a router. I'm shooting RAW on slot 1 and the Eye-Fi card in slot 2. The Eye-Fi card now sends the jpg directly to either your ipad or in lightroom on your computer; depending on the first of the two you log into. Within 5-7 seconds, I can see the picture on screen. Its an amazing gadget for 80 bucks. I rarely chimp the pictures I take, but it can be useful at times. When somebody wants to see the shots you just took per example. You dont have to show them on the LCD. That way, you can use your LCD to read the histogram only. I didnt shoot with it yet, just messed around a bit, but its also easily configurable (and as fast) on the ipad. I'm really happy with this new configuration. A great asset to my home setup.

![]() I've seen businesses that run similarly they have employees in a tent post processing the images they receive from a shooter working out in the field. |

You dont even need a router! The Eye-Fi appears as a wifi network on your pc or ipad. You connect to it, start the app; and voila!

Installing CS6 now. Good thing I didn't have much else planned for this afternoon. I'll be busy playing in PS.

Meh, not as impressed as I had hoped. Couple of new tools that just do what you could do before except now there are fewer steps involved. ACR 7.0 is certainly better. More controls for fine tuning. I'm disappointed that the motion blur correction did not make it into PS CS6. That was what created all the buzz during the previews. If I had to pay full price for this, I would have been pretty upset at the minimal differences. Maybe as I play with it more I'll see more improvements.

any of you guys own a GoPro?
I'm going to the track next weekend for the first time, and I'm wondering if it'd be worth getting the Motorsports edition. Any thoughts? |

In direct mode, the card sends the file directly to your computer/Ipad in about 6 seconds.

Didnt knew they had them! Same price as everywhere. The cool thing about BB is that they wont say a word if you return it because you dont like it.
