You need to edit the mp3 tag.
Detailed instructions are here

When did you pick up your car from BMW? From what I know, they have disabled this function on new cars. Mine was ok before then after they upgraded my software, I couldn't see the album covers anymore.

I think this is because of the new software. They said it's copyright issues. I was so pissed when they upgraded my software without letting me know.

You should go back to your SA and complain. They said you can view album covers but how come now they disabled it.

Hi all! I'm also new here. I picked up mine in July this year and the album photo was disabled in mine too. I was told it was due to the regulations in HK, which prohibit any graphical display in the front seats of the vehicle for entertainment purposes. Album arts, even though they are not videos, fall within the prohibition. That's too bad. I wonder if there's anyone in HK who can reactivate it.

Is the disabling of album cover display compulsory when you bring your car back for maintenance? If so..... another reason to forgo their maintenance plan

So this is the reason. My SA kept on saying copyright issues which I don't understand. I keep on telling him everyone else in the world can view the album covers how come we have copyright issues in HK?

Yup compulsory. You don't have a say. They'll just go ahead and do it. So next time you bring your car in for oil change, don't be surprised.

They messed up my phonebook too btw. Apparently this new software works with Iphone 3G, 3GS but with old IOS. Works fine with Iphone 4 though.

Imagine if I ticked that 10" screen option...I'll be pissed as hell. I'll probably go back and ask for a refund.

That's not good. I don't have 6NR so no display for me anyway.

that regulation sounds ridiculous enough. Just what make the regulators think a stationary graphical representation of an album cover would distract the driver? How about all those graphics you see when change to sport/sport+ mode or when you check your vehicle status in the iDrive?
In the strict sense, those graphics are also unnecessary and you can say they're there to "entertain" the driver as well

Are we going to have the only character-based iDrive in the world in HK pretty soon?

I don't feel like to lose sight of this cat after an annual checkup

Mit, better get the update, get rid of that cat

I can understand the distraction of nubile young artists pics in high res., but i have never seen the album art. Rc, why don't we have it?

I saw the maintanence prices, i thought good deal .. like 8k for 1-3yr, then 10k for 4-6yr .. then i saw it was per year

I have the price list here, very different from yours.

$10000 for 2nd year/12000km
$18000 for 3rd year/24000km
$24000 for 4th year/36000km
no extended waranty for >4year

For me, 12000km mileage just takes 8-9 months
BTW there is another plans for longer mileage, can't remember the price though

Not exact figures, just off top of my head .. it was in a flyer a while ago, perhaps promotional rates
Those figures u have a crazy high, i figure if its around 5-6k a yr may be contemplatable..
anyway you know how to do your own stuff anyway, it would just be for the warranty, right?
