Absolutely gorgeous car! Yesterday I picked up my loaded 2012 550 M-Sport w/XDrive which replaces my 2011 550 Sport w/XDrive. I love the hint of blue in the Carbon Black Metallic paint!

I'm also very impressed with the power and handling of the 550i. It is much better than I expected. Having Sport tires helps a lot.

Audi 4.2 V8 (Q7)-- stout engine, very smooth with nice torque. Power throughout the entire rpm range. Sold it at about 35k miles and the engine was still superb. I was lucky not to have an oil thirsty engine some other 4.2 owners had e92 M3 (s65 motor)-- beautiful engine...high revving V8, have to love that. Throttle response is like none other and at full song, that engine is at home. 550i is an impressive package..handling is good, but looking forward to my coilovers!

Only if you choose an xi. My 550i is a RWD 6-speed manual, and I'm in Massachusetts. Long live the clutch pedal!!

When i test drove the 535xi, it felt quicker than when i test drove the regular 535i. Because, to be honest with you, thats the only reason why i would pick the "xi".

I'm not sure -- my "butt dynamometer" isn't that accurate. Besides, for me, the lack of a clutch pedal makes the xi a non-starter. I drove one (550i, non-sport) when i was considering the car, but not since then.

Gorgeous car! I love 6speed V8 5series and will one day import a 550iM/6 F10 from North-America. BMW don't sell them anywere else.
Have you driven a E60, E39 or E34 V8 6speed and can make a comparison? I have a registry of all 540i/6 E34 and couldn't help check all 550i/6 F10 and can therefore tell that you own the only Dark Graphite II/Everest Gray with M Sport Package of the to this day 462 built 550i/6 F10. While the M3 may have been a few ticks faster to 60 mph/100 kph, the F10 is the smoothest of all of the cars I've had, and the most effortless. Where you had to rev the M3, the 550 just has gobs of power, regardless of the revs. And if you drive it at all aggressively (accelerating from about 3,500 RPMs in third gear, for example), there had better be a lot of room in front of you, because you will be going fast QUICKLY.

Stephan, I did an ED with a buddy of mine a while ago. He picked up a 650 vert 6MT. Do you know how many of those have been built? btw, how to you access the registry?
