Started my car, iDrive screen became fully lit, as shown, which I've never seen before, lasted about 30 seconds and then went completely black. I pressed multiple buttons and restarted the car multiple times, but the fully lit screen hasn't returned and the screen has remained black. Anyone see this before!?

Just do a hard reset and it should be fine.

ahh the orange screen. press the mute button for 30 sec. Idrive will reboot.

While the problem persisted throughout the day, it resolved itself overnight.

I e-mailed my service advisor the photo, inquiring into same, but haven't heard back. :|

Looks to be an anomaly, but better not happen again!

Just curious -- what model F10s?

My 550i had the lovely orange screen tonight. (It was actually a nice gradient from reddish orange on the driver's side to yellowish orange on the passenger side.)

I shut down the car and re-started, which had no effect. I had previously set the destination in the nav system, and the HUD worked fine. (GOOD THING, as I wasn't all that familiar with the area where I was!)

I found this thread, and went down to the garage, ready to reboot it. The car had been idle for an hour. I got in, started up, and the screen lit up just like usual.

Not taking any chances -- I'm putting a note in the car that the hard reset is accomplished by hitting MUTE for 30 seconds.
