Front plates in NJ

Well, I almost went a full year and today I earned a $54 ticket from a state trooper on I-80. How he noticed that I was missing a front plate during the morning rush hour is quite impressive.

I still cringe at having to drill into my front bumper, but am also not a fan of the tow hook mount option. Since I also don't want to deal with a nagging wife if I should get ticket number 2, are there any other options besides the off centered tow hook method?

I have the same issue. My car came from Florida, where they do not require front plates. I have the bracket sitting at home, but don't want to put holes in the bumper. There's a hide away plate that some guys install. They cut the lower grill on the top and a motorized plate bracket comes out. Displaying as a regular front plate would. Ill try to find the link.

Velcro, no holes in bumper. Been on since March 2015.

Anyone ever try out these guys?

It does require drilling holes, but it looks like you will not see them if you remove it.

I ended up going with the tow hook quick release option from US Millworks. It looks pretty good and I am glad that I did not have to put any holes in my bumper.

Cool License Plate/No drill

I live in Jersey and 2 of our cars have the license plate holders screwed into the front bumper towing slot. I could never allow them screwing directly on to the bumper.

I'm going almost 1month strong without in NYC. *knock on wood* hoping to keep on going with out. Idk what the penalty in NYC is though for without. I've seen some other cars (from NYS) w/o and they run around NY a bit.

I have it for my e39. Very happy with quality and no, you don't see holes after removal.

After being pulled over WAY to many times in NJ for no plate with previous cars, I decided it just wasn't meant to be and have since left the plate on the front. Out of the 6 or so stops, only 1 cop gave me a ticket, the rest gave me the "If I see you around again with no plate on I will have to give you a ticket" speech.

It really just wasn't worth the aggravation anymore. My buddy has the power folding plate holder and loves it though he forgot to fold it up one day and got pulled over for no plate.
