Vorsteiner or Meisterschaft Exhaust....I still can't decide!
I'm really wanting to get out of my Eisenmann Race exhaust. Frankly, it's just a little too boring for me.
I understand that probably due to the nature of the F10 550i, I can't achieve what I truly want. However, I'm wanting something that is a little higher pitched and exotic sounding. The Eisenmann is very nice, but way to low and mellow for my taste. Opinions? |

I would delete the resonator and put straight pipe. And get a AR downpipe will definitely make sound incredible. IMO.
If you dont want this option then I recomment meisterschaft.

I'm already running an X-pipe and no resonators at this point. I'm leaning towards Meisterschaft, but I very interested in hearing a 550i with the Vorsteiner. There is one video online, but I'd like to hear the 500i do a drive by. My biggest complaint, is that I cannot really hear the car enough to shift at the proper time (obviously, in manual mode). Unless I'm staring at the tachometer, it's kinda hard to get a feel for it. I want a lot more audible feedback in the shifts.

I would definitely go for the Meisterschaft GTC! It has an amazing sound and that valve system is priceless for a executive car like this. Its always a good thing to have the elegant/quiet option sometimes hehehehe

Save yourself the hassle and get the AR design downpipes. The combo of eisenmann and ar dps on the 550i is absolutley insane. One of the best things ive heard in a long long time.

Okay......here is the deciding factor.
My father has the Audi R8 V10. Will my 550i be able to make his car put it's tail between it's legs? I love tunnel blasting in his car (cannot beat that sound, as far as tone goes). However, if the Meisterschaft GTC 550i will give it a run for it's money (we're talking sound here), I'm in! By the way, when I say "my father", I must note that I'm 38 years old and he's 64. I didn't want to sound like a teenager talking about "daddy's car". |

I don't think Meisterschaft is what he is looking for. He said "higher pitched and exotic sounding" and the GTC is as deep and V8 rumbly as you could ask for and not wander in to droning territory.
Look up some Akrapovic exhaust clips. I know its designed for the M5, but a competent exhaust shop should have no problem fitting it to the 550i

Good Lord that sounds incredible! At $7,800.....OUCH!
That certainly is the type of sound I'm searching for. I'm not sure anything like that exists in the $4,000 or less price range. You are right, I do prefer the higher pitched sound. |

If that the sound is what you are after most, trade your 550i in for a gently used E60 M5. Here is one example I found.

No, I was only talking about sound. Performance, there is no comparison. I also know it's not going to touch the "tone" of the Audi V10. I think I was just referring to shear volume

Let me just chime in as the author of the Meisterschaft video clips.
Thos videos don't even scratch the surface of what the car really sounds like in real life. To this date i haven't heard of another car sound as beast, exotic and fierce as the F10 550i with the Meisterschaft sounds. It was insane while tunnel blasting. At car shows, revving the car caused crowds to come together in admiration of the beastly sounds. The beautiful thing about all thats being said is that you can quiet the beast as Dr. Jekyl and Ms. Hyde with the convenience and comfort atthe touch of a button with the valves. IMHO you can't beat that as far as a 550i is concerned. Hope this helps. |

I'm probably going to be in the minority here but I just can't justify the price of either of these exhausts. Based on the actual HP you are going to see compared to the cost just doesn't make sense. If sound is what you want I'm sure you could just get some custom exhaust work done and with the money you save buy a set of wheels. Just offering up my 2 cents...good luck either direction you go in!

Since you are probably the only one here that had it on their 550 (f10), can you compare the tone to any other car? In other words, in the videos....the car sounds pretty much like an American muscle car. Is this accurate or is that just a product of the camera microphone? Is there something else out there that could help me picture the sound? |

Give us a call if you have any questions regarding the Meisterschaft GTS or GTC exhaust system! There are quite a few people on the boards that have our GTC system, no complaints so far. A set up like Luigimaster will definitely turn heads!

Okay, I went with the Meisterschaft GTC exhaust. I'm getting the mufflers, x-pipe and the wireless control.
I really liked the Eisenmann Race exhaust, except it's way too quiet for my taste. Great tone though. So, on to Meisterschaft. Think my wife will notice? "No honey, it's ALWAYS been like that!" |
