Finally got the Auto Start/ Stop set to last user memory. Loveeeeee it. Big shout out to the techs at Hassel BMW in Freeport, NY. Now I don't have to hear my wife's voice every time I loan her the car and it “breaks down on her”....lol

going to BMW of Bayside tomorrow for this .. hope it works out.. they tried to convince me over the phone to just press the button lol

Lol, well come on down to Hassel BMW. I work there so I know it can be done. My car has had no issues

took it to Haberstad and they kept it overnight because the first time they tried to install the fix it didnt accept it or something .. i just think they didnt get around to my car today .. soo the Corolla stays for the night lol ..

Great to hear ! I don't know HOW I didn't see this sooner ! I knew BMW was getting an overwhelming amount of negative feedback regarding this issue but I didn't think they would actually relent.

is the car supposed to remember the last setting on the next day? i think i have to turn it off at least once every day

It will remember last user setting always. So if you turn it off Monday, on Friday it will still be set to OFF, until you turn it off again....

I went to the dealer today and they wanted to charge me 3 hours,375$ to do this!!!! I will continue to press the switch!

So I think I have figured out whats going on.

1) The ASS update will not remember the last user setting from day to day. If you stay in 1 given drive mode consistently. ie. you will have to disable ASS at least once everyday.
2) The ASS update is not smart enough to remember the last user setting if you change drive modes during an ongoing drive. ie. if you switch between 'Eco Pro" to "Sport" you will have to hit the button again.

Is everyone else having the same issues?

This is so dumb from the "Ultimate Driving Machine" ..my arse

ECO PRO is going to override your ASS setting since the entire point of ECO PRO is to squeeze every last amount of efficiency out of the entire vehicle.

If you turn the vehicle off while it's in ECO PRO, you will have to turn ASS off again when you get back in.

It shouldn't be doing that in Sport though so if that is what is happening that is an issue

After the update mine remembers the last setting. Even when I change driving modes. But then again I don't have eco pro ....

If true, this is total fucking bullshit. I want a setting in iDrive: Check it: ASS on, Uncheck it: ASS off. Period. It's clear that most customers HATE this feature, and in addition it can prove DANGEROUS under certain circumstances.
