AW 535i xDrive M-Sport

Just picked this up at a good price, it's a bit high mileage but it was too clean for me to pass up.
I'm coming from an e46 so this is a fresh upgrade for me! I already have a few parts ready to install from vrsf.
Only things I did was an oil change, serpentine belt, and window tint.

In true bmw fashion here's what's wrong with it lol:
-passenger side door won't lock or unlock by remote or button✓
-comfort access doesn't work at all
-front control arms ✓
-needs brakes all around ✓

Not much tbh it drives great.

Here's my list so far:
-cat-less down pipe ✓
-fmic ✓
-charge pipe ✓
-MST cold air intake ✓
-bm3 tune ✓
-x Delete ✓
-M5 rear diffuser ✓
-M5 mufflers ✓
-New valve cover gasket✓
-Oil filter housing gasket✓
-New oem radiator✓
-New oem front axles
-New oem waterpump @143k✓
-New oem valve cover✓

idk let me know if I'm missing anything ? I'll try n post here after every upgrade

thanks guys

My mechanic said no major leaks and nothing to worry about. But I assume I'll find some when I go to put the downpipe in.

In my e46 I had to do the vanos and oil filter housing gasket, it's probably the same on the f10 right?

Oil filter housing, oil pan, valve cover gaskets all common. What year and how many miles?

140k is nothing for a well maintained n55. I'm at 145 currently. I have been around many n55 powered f series bmws well over 175k, running like new. Oil changes are critical. Most are neglected with previous owners running extended oil change interval.

That's what I like to hear! That's one of the reasons why I had to grab this one, religious oil changes on the carfax with only 2 owners.
Did you ever walnut blast? I've heard with the n55s the carbon isn't like it was on the n54.

Don't hear many people having it done on n55. When it do it's for some issues, which don't get resolved after the walnut blast anyway. I wouldn't worry about it.

update
Last night my mechanic friend really came through for me, we got the front mount, downpipe, and charge pipe all in about 3 hours.

charge pipe:
took about 10 minutes, didn't remove the airbox, only the small duct.
broke the radiator nipple off for the coolant reservoir, drilled it out jb weld new nipple- all good.

fmic:
pain to get the stock one out but not bad. used a jack stand to line it up and really just wiggled it in. Had to trim some plastic off of the mounting bracket for a better fit.

downpipe:
The bottom clamp nut on the stock cat was a mess, had to oxy torch it off but managed to save the clamp. The mounting brackets were tough to get to, took 2 bolts
out of the transmission and just removed the brackets as new dp had no mounting points. Removed the vband and just whacked the cat till it popped out of the exhaust.
Didn't drop the exhaust at all at any point. Went fine.

I must say that having a lift and a shop I can work out of was the only way I could do this. The right tools fkn matter!

Doing all three of these at once really made a difference when I went for a drive, throttle response is way better, rpms move freely, really feels and sounds great.

Just need intake and tune- still undecided on what I want ehh.

Pictures suck, I did this after work smh.

Suggest to do tranny filter and fluid. For the ZF 8 speed is important.

Don't forget the transfer case and the two diffs

What's up man, I would absolutely have the walnut blasting done, I did mine right about 75k before I did all my bolt ons, and when I took that manifold off, the chambers were pretty cooked, the walnut blasting cleaned it up really good..wish I took before and after pics, but it does work IMO so I would def suggest doing it on any DI engine to tell u the truth

Hows it going man, your car looks amazing! When I took the car in for warranty work (overall check over, ended up doing valve cover gasket, ofhg) I asked them to check if it needed some walnuts and they said it was clean. Maybe previous owner did it idk!

The door handle trim, I think I'd rather paint match it white ? Not sure, maybe I'll open up photoshop haha

I would check on those chambers myself cause I dont know how they could tell it was clean by doing a VC and OFHG.. you need to take that intake manifold off to see in there.. that might look pretty hot white on white for the trim.. good thing about vinyl, u could peel it right off if u don't care for it
