Just guessing but do you have the Active Blind Spot? I was told it uses a radar unit in both sides of the rear bumper to detect cars approaching rapidly.
But its just a guess. Are there two of them?

That is the rear auxiliary servo controlled compensator that interacts with the intermediate electronic capacitor flow sensor in order to retroactively modulate the air diverter of the hydraulic counter-balanced cup holders,........Sorry, I could not help myself ![]() All in good fun!!

I could be wrong but that looks like the comfort access sensor for the trunk. I had to relocate mine for the M5 diffuser install.
