The waters not even that high. Must have reached some wires. The boat in the background is ironic.

I feel bad for the owner. But he had no business driving in weather and road conditions like that after all the warnings. Insurance will probably write it off and raise rates for everybody else as a consequence.

I think he has a pretty good insurance, otherwise you just dont bail on a 50k+ car

Why was he driving in these conditions? I'm in Montreal and didn't dare take my car out yesterday. Montreal got some part of the storm (only strong winds).

In the past 5 years a lot of NY homeowners were getting dropped by their home insurance companies because their analysts concluded that NY was going to become a flood/hurricane risk within the next 10 years. This is only the start. This is the second hurricane in two years.

Some places became so quickly inundated with water that it would have been hard to avoid. Several people in Jersey City said that they were walking to their apartments and all of a sudden they were in 5 feet of water and had to cling to whatever they could find to prevent being swept out by the hurricane.

Or, you could have been like my Wife who actually had to go into work on Monday because she works in the medical field. Some people were just trying to make it home.

Oh that sucks....I got lucky not to run into any trouble with the storm. A lot of these cars will be on used car-lots soon.
