I put mine tucked in right above the rear view mirror, drivers side. It fits in really nice there and does not obstruct your field of view. Also it allows you to keep it kind of stealth while allowing almost full use of the sun visor/mirror. And a good location to hardwire it right to your sunroof wiring. I have no issues with tint causing interference.

IMO this is the best spot for it:

No interference of any kind

Does it really work well up there? I'm about to buy a detector and thought that location would be impaired. Good to know.

I traveled 400 miles yesterday and I had the v1 up by the rear view and it worked like a charm

It's perfect. There is like a small indentation on the liner that fits the V1 just right. If you place the suction cups really close to the top of the windshield it does not interfere with the visor operation or the view of the passenger. It's also easy to reach from the driver's seat.
