2011 535 xi oil light won't reset

Followed procedure but still says oil change due in 250 mile or 12 2013 thoughts?

Make sure doors are closed and Key is on, engine not running. Once the cluster shows the time HOLD the button on the instrument cluster until you see the little car pop up. Once you see that cycle to the oil service symbol by pressing the button (not holding) on the instrument cluster. Once there, hold the button on the cluster. You will see it say reset but now there is a ? next to it. Release and hold the button again. You will see a progress bar. Keep holding until it says reset complete.
