Black Grills

Does anyone know where I can get gloss black kidney grills for my F11 other than directly from BMW?

It works out about £90 to get them both so ideally would like to find them cheaper!

Also, is it possible to replace the chrome bits next to the side indicators with gloss black (other than painting them!)

I would like to get rid of the tacky chrome side trim too... plenty to import, nice to cource in uk?

I would be scared of getting the non-OEM black grills as they could look terrible in the flesh. There are some awful looking cheapo grills out there.

I know what you mean but that's why I'm asking in a forum to generate responses from people who have bought cheaper versions and can comment on the quality.

Obviously 5 series owners in the UK don't modify cars the way the seem to in the US as I haven't found any other options and no-one else on here can suggest anyone.

Just get the OEM black grills for your F10, that way you know you're getting a quality product, and I doubt you'll save that much on some replica grill.

I'm beginning to think I'm going to have to.

Thinking of going for the black grills on my Imperal Blue/Black Shadowline F10 when it's delivered. But not sure if the combination of a blue car and black grills work although it sounds as though it should (and its too late to cancel the back shadowline :-) )

Any thoughts?

hi did you get the grills and if so - any pics?

I pick up my Imperial Blue this friday - also with hi-gloss shadowline - i'm also in two minds about the performance grills

think i'll get some - bmw_direct on ebay sell them for £85ish for the pair and you'd easy get £60 back on ebay if you didn't like them.

worth a go.

have you checked the the m5 "style" grill pics I posted recently, another option? Let me know if you find and side repeaters in black or brushed etc? I`ll post if I find any in UK..

Car arrived about 3 weeks ago and then spent 2 days back at the dealer with some 'Chassis' fault. Then I was in India for a week so I have barely driven it

Black shadowline looks terrific with the Imperial Blue so I think I'll bite the bullet and get the grills done over Xmas if I have time.

Do you have any pics before and after ? I agree the origs stand out in a bad way esp on the darker colours...
