Custom lower mesh grilles without fog lights
My car has m sport body kit and i hate those yellowish fog lights. Is there anyone who produces lower mesh grilles without fog lights? I dont inderstand why f10 does not have any drl yet. I am desperately waiting for a make up which will look like new 6 series. Any suggestions and know how will be appreciated...

The F10 does have DRL (Daytime Running Lights), or at least it has in the rest of Europe...
On the F10 (and other new BMW's), the DRL is the angel eyes (corona rings in BMW speak) that serve as both parking lights and DRL. When in use as DRL they shine brighter than when they are parking lights. Just try to use the light switch and see if you don't have the same feature as well. The DRL can be switched on/off in the iDrive menu, check if the DRL box is ticked. Some info on BMW DRL: BMW 1-series DRL Parking light brightness ![]() DRL brightness ![]() And I suggest you change the mesh grilles to the ones from the M550d ![]() ![]() Last edited by Boss330; 09-25-2012 at 03:52 PM. |

I am not talking about angel eyes. What i mean is either drl like new 6 series on the bumper or no fog lights as m5. I didnt know that 550d has no fog lights. I will check the part number from etk if it is compatible. Thanks.

Ok. But the M5 still has exactly the same DRL as all other F10 5-series in europe. In your first post it seemed like your car didn't have DRL at all...

I ordered 550dx grilles today and my dealer told me that they will find a way to bypass foglight error. Thank you very much for your recommendation since i was not aware about 550dx grilles.

I believe that it's possible to code delete the fog lights to avoid getting a fault code. If not, the easiest way is probably just to leave the light bulb (just the bulb, not the entire fog light) in the socket and tuck it away behind the bumper. That way you won't get a fault code (because the control unit still can check that the bulb is ok) and you can easily convert back to the old grilles and fog lights should you wish. Just an idea (and it won't cost you a penny). |

I'm interested in doing the same thing and deleting my M-Sport fog lights; can you gove us any information about how you ordered the M-Sport bumper mesh grills without the foglight holes?
Thank You! |

There is a aftermarket day running light that you can purchase it goes in place of the mesh by the lower fog grills and instead of the two grey fins on the front bumper those two fins are LED strips
