Ride for the wife
Ok guys I need your help... My wife's lease is coming to an end soon ('11 3 series sedan). She loves her current car and the way it looks, drives and feels, but she HATES the new 3 series. She is a long time BMW lover and driver and thinks the new look is heresy!! So what should she get next? What do your wife's drive? It has to be comparable in price as I just got a new car too and don't want to spend so much a month.

She hates the new 3's headlights how they connect to the grill. I like the A5 but i think its more than what i want to spend. I showed her the new CLA which i love and she said no!!

My wife used to drive a 2011 E90 and took over a 2013 F10 MSport that was supposed to be my new ride... and she loves it! I didn't mind as it gave me a perfect excuse to get a coupe ;-)

^^ generally Bmw leases can't be extended for more than 3 months unless you have another Bmw on order. Even then i believe the max extension is 6 months from what i was told.
Depending on your budget maybe a pre-owned E9x M3 would be very sweet. Last of the V8 M3's. Another car that i was close to deciding on was the X3 Msport. Payments similar to the 3 series and you get more cargo room. Alan

My wife drives a Z4 35i. Perhaps not as economical / practical as an F30, but I think we have the best of both worlds with the E89 and F10. I'm biased - I recommend taking a hard look at the Z4. Maybe consider a 2-3 year old if you want to keep the costs in the same ballpark.
Happy car hunting.

maybe an X3, my wife moved from 2009 3 touring to an new X3, like it but think not as good as the 3 series on the driving experience, she also hate the new 3 series, we experienced the new 3 while the X3 in for service, and I agree the interior feel somehow cheaper than the previous model.

Thanks for all the responses guys. I just finished reading all your comments to her hahaha She almost hit me for posting this. In actuality she is a good driver and she has been racing go carts and the such with her dad, so she can drive. If it was me I would love to get her a used M3, so then we would have an F10 and a coupe and I can steal every once in a while. I will check auto trader for those coupes...I think she would go for those.

The question you both should answer is, "If you like your current car, then why not purchase it?". Many people end up buying the car they lease if they had a great ownership experience. My wife's 1st BMW purchase was her mother's 2006 330xi coming off of lease and it's an amazing car! She eventually traded the car in for a 2011 X5M and even turned her Audi owning husband towards the brand.
Good luck, and enjoy your next ownership/lease experience!

Mine drives a '11 Porsche Panamera v6...but it sounds like more than you want to spend tho. However it does allow me to have a great alternate driver especially when asked to chauffeur her around!
F10 is a great car tho! Maybe you could give her your 535i and get to upgrade to an M5! ![]()
