Spare Tire

I'm going to get my car lowered on ACS springs and put on a set of 20" wheels. I'm also going to get a spare tire kit from Bimmerzone, but my concern is that the spare tire will be taller than the stock tires and if I need to install the spare, will it clear being that the car has been lowered?

Also, is there any place under the trunk mat for the spare to go, or does it just take up room in the trunk?

What size 20's are you planning? I have ACS springs, 20" 312's and space saver tire - the spare is about 26.5" overall the same as my 275/30/20 rear tires. Yes you will sacrifice some trunk space. Get a good tight fitting cover and rachet tie down down strap and you're good.

Where the spare would normally go is occupied by the battery.

I was looking at the tire size on the Bimmerzone website pic, the picture shows the space saver spare sitting on top of a stock tire and it looks like a taller tire - that's what prompted my query.
