Short of visiting the dealer, is there any way to fix this? Is this a common problem?

I press Eject, hear noises, hear noises again, but the CD doesn't comes out...

I'm not by my car right now, but CD players used to have a tiny hole on the fascia that you could stick a straightened paper clip into to manually open them.

Is that still the case?

Had this happen to my Z3 when I first got it. Had to take it to the dealer. That was back in 2001. Do people still use CDs?

Before starting the car this morning, I pressed Eject and the CD came out!

Better not happen again!
