Setting HVAC to Recirculate

Does setting the HVAC system to recirculate air help with making the AC any colder?

yes, but the car should do that automatically for you if it needs to. If it does that it won't do it for ever though, just to get he temperature down if its very hot inside.

I'd just set the temperature to your desired settings and leave everything on auto and let the car handle it.
You might consider change the air intensity setting up a level or two if you're preferring more of a air flow.

Are you having any issues in particular, not cooling down enough?

Thanks for this insight, AP!

Yes, not sure, but my AC doesn't feel as strong as it used to be...

How old is the car?
It might just need re-gassing as the gas will leak over time. Best to make sure its used at least once a week.(Wasn't off over winter was it?)

On all of the cars I've had , I've generally had the air conditioning regassed every 2 years just before the summer kicks in to make sure its at its best.

If its nice and cold already it might just be the intensity. just up the level a step or two. When I picked up my car it was set at the lowest level I thought it wasn't much good. I've got mine set in the middle setting and this seems fine. Also silly question but I'll ask anyway! You have got the dial for face vents set to the blue for the coldest setting?

It's a 2011 750Li xDrive and yes, the center vent dials are set to blue.

It's already cold, but but my AC doesn't feel as strong as it used to be...

Have you had the under-hood filters checked and replaced recently? If they are dirty your ventilation (air flow) may be reduced.
