Front lip and rear spoiler

Is it true that if you install the front lip without installing the rear spoiler it will affect the performance of the car ( got this info from the BMW performance parts web site ) .
I don't like the rear spoiler but would love to have the front lip .
If I add a roof spoiler will this work instead of the rear spoiler ?

For normal street use, you have absolutely nothing to worry about. Buy whichever components you think look good and install them. You won't notice any difference in performance, I guarantee you.
