Low Tire Warning
Just wondering if I'm doing something wrong. Whenever I have a low tire, I can never tell which specific tire it is as they all turn yellow. My Infiniti and MB have always told which tire was low and my Infiniti also told me what the PSI was on each one. I have a 2012 535i. Is this the way the tire pressure warning works? It's not a big deal, but when its cold, it kinda bites having to check all of them to see which one is the guilty one..

It shows it on the speedometer, the low tire is highlight. Also you can have your car coded to show psi

On my 2013 528ix I have had the low pressure warning come on twice in two months. Only the affected tire was highlighted yellow in iDrive screen. In my case, left front. Other three were still green. Turns out I had a very slow leak in the LF tire caused by an imbedded screw (or so the dealer tells me as I have not seen it yet). Based on the slow rate of losing pressure (I noted the dates when the warnings came on) my contention was that the screw was there when I took delivery of the car, but no luck proving that! I have Goodyear Eagles and the company (Goodyear) took away the Hazard warranty in Nov. 2012 so SOL there and no free replacement. Dealer wanted $390 OTD to replace and install one new RFT tire. I said, NO, and called Goodyear national Customer Service Center and they agreed to give me 50% off a new tire if dealer would agree. They did and I went out the door with the reduced cost of $206.00. Got the better price with 2 phone calls and 10 minutes of my time. I know an RFT can be patched and my initial thought was to do that, but maybe next time. Finding a tire service center that will repair an RFT can take time and be a hassle when it's all said and done. Certain tire criteria needs to be met as well. Live and learn. I do plan to get my car coded and getting TPMS to show tire pressure and temperature is on the top of my list. My 12 year old Cadillac DHS does that!
