Well I had a 2005 330i ZHP sedan before my F10. It had an oil consumption issue as well, and despite everything I tried, it never improved, it only got worse. BMW fed me the same line that the consumption was within spec, but I don't really buy that claim. I have a CPO 2011 535 now and so far I have not noticed any oil consumption issues, but I have only had the car for about 2k miles. I think the consumption issues have a lot to do with how the engine was broken in. Bought my ZHP with about 70k miles, so who knows how the previous owner broke in the engine. I also had a 2001 325ci that I purchased new and followed the break in procedures to the smallest detail, and that thing never consumed any oil right up until when I sold it at about 65k miles.
