That's not true, the shop I work at is in process of building 2 closed-deck converted N55 with fully forged bottom ends. Both engines expected to be making 6-700whp with potentially more if the turbo systems will support.
The N54's we build are out there in the wild making 700, 800, 900whp. No reason the N55 can't do the same when properly built.
