Nice find! Looks like the F10 version is 22.2mm and the M5 is 26.9mm. Quite a difference (32% more area)! Perhaps to decrease the amount of braking torque per a given pedal force due to mechanical advantage and aggressive brake pads?
The casting is different where the lines attach, I wonder what else changes throughout the M5 system? I wonder if the booster is the same…
