It is a no-win situation. To an M-car owner M-Performance cars like the M240, M340, etc. are not M-cars despite BMW calling them such on the BMW USA website. My 230i with the M-Sport package has if I remember correctly 11 spots with the M logo from the factory. Ultimately I de-badged my car simply because I like the look better this way.
Personally I think the whole thing is just another case of penis compensation

decided to remove them this morning... used dental floss, surface prep and then some spray on ceramic wax to complete the job in about 5 minutes.
turned out that the car looked much cleaner without those M fender badges!

if I change my mind, I guess i can always use 3M double-sided adhesive tape to put them back on. now I'm thinking maybe I'll remove the regular badges on the back of the car later today?
