Yeah, there are many ways the engine can seize up having those ports open. Any bit of debris going down them clogging the pickup can give you a huge headache of a repair bill. Just make sure its clean around area before opening it up and prime for peace of mind. I had done Lsturbointeg's ofhg for him and his car is doing good. Bunch of stuff he modded on the performance side of things and sound.
