i know in my Integra the only think i had to cover was the alternator.
for me since i can't use any degreaser products at the local car wash i simply on a low pressure setting just spray the entire engine bay.
okay, after a quick search on Google it looks like you don't have to cover anything. most people used Simple Green or Purple Power for degreaser. use low pressure and not high pressure as the high pressure can force water into areas it shouldn't go.
