This is correct. From newTIS:

Which is why autohold and parking brake are interlinked and both are disabled if there is a parking brake failure: it cannot do the last sentence of "parking brake assumes the holding function" if the parking brake is malfunctioning, leading to a risk of a vehicle rolling away when drivers expected it to be held.
