I agree that this upgrade is insanely confusing, so over the process of doing this upgrade for myself and weighing different options, I've compiled a document of part numbers, prices, dimensions, weights, etc. This should provide absolute clarity to anyone wanting to do any of the 550i/750i/760i/X5M upgrades to their car.
This was originally in Excel, but I've had to convert it to Word to attach it, so it has lost some functionality. You can PM me and I'll send you the original Excel file over email if anyone wants it.
I'm anticipating that I'll have my X5M/550i conversion installed onto my car by the end of the year, so I'll post some updates on how it goes.
