Thought I would update my Route 66 Experience.

My 550 now has about 75,000 miles.

I smelled burning coolant, and had to top off the reservoir. Dealer diagnosed leaking coolant hose. A $60 part, but a $1,100 repair. My warranty policy expressly excludes hoses, so Route 66 declined my invitation. Fair enough.

Literally the day after I picked up my car, the "drivetrain malfunction" warning came on. Drive Moderately! screamed my vehicle.

Ultimately learned that one ignition coil had failed (they are a known weak link here). Route 66 agreed to pay parts/labor to replace all 8 coils. I decided to replace all spark plugs while the engine was opened up. $800 paid by Route 66. $350 paid by me. (Route 66 does not pay tax for some reason, so that is my responsibility?).

I am hopeful not to need to interact with my dealer or Route 66 any time soon. Warranty expires 9/2021, as will my ownership of this car.
