Everything everyone has said in this post is correct. Worse yet for my F10. I have the EDC shocks. $$$$$ for replacement!
I would just go coilovers. At least the shocks and springs are matched for the ride quality you want.

No coilovers are available for x-drive versions. At least not from KW, Bilstein or H&R.
